How to Play

Collapse! is a satisfying puzzle game where you click on groups of matching colored blocks to make them disappear from the board. The key mechanic is that blocks must be connected—only groups of two or more identical adjacent blocks can be cleared. When you click on a valid group, all blocks in that group vanish, and the blocks above them fall down to fill the gaps. This creates opportunities for chain reactions as new groups form from the falling blocks. The game ends when no more valid moves exist on the board.

Strategy in Collapse! goes beyond simply clicking any matching group. Larger groups score exponentially more points than smaller ones, so it's often wise to let smaller groups accumulate into massive combos before clearing them. However, leaving too many blocks on the board risks running out of moves. The tension between building big combos and maintaining playable options creates engaging decision-making throughout each game.

As blocks fall and settle, new groups automatically form when matching colors land next to each other. These cascade moments are where the biggest scores happen. Positioning your clicks to trigger chain reactions—where clearing one group causes another group to form and clear automatically—can result in spectacular point multipliers. Watching the board reorganize itself after a well-planned move is one of the most satisfying experiences in puzzle gaming.

The game provides a preview showing which groups can be clicked—typically by highlighting them when you hover. Use this information strategically. Sometimes clearing a small group now prevents a larger opportunity later, so plan your moves carefully. Progressive difficulty introduces more colors and complex patterns as your score increases, keeping the challenge fresh and demanding.
