How to Play

Block Blast combines the strategic depth of block puzzle games with the satisfying clearing mechanics of match-3. You place blocks of various shapes onto an 8x8 grid, and when a complete row or column is filled, it clears and you score points. The game ends when there's no more room to place the current block. Unlike traditional Tetris, you choose where to place freely rather than dropping from above. This gives you more control but also requires more strategic thinking about space management.

Block shapes range from simple single squares to complex L-shapes and T-shapes. Each game provides three random block options, and once all three are placed, three new blocks appear. You must strategically fit these blocks into your grid while ensuring you can complete rows and columns. The key skill is managing your space so you don't create isolated gaps that can never be filled.

Clearing multiple lines simultaneously scores exponentially more points than clearing single lines. Planning your placements to set up multi-line clears is the path to high scores. Sometimes it's worth placing a block in an awkward spot to complete one line now rather than holding out for a perfect position that might never come.

The game rewards spatial reasoning and forward thinking. Each block placement affects what future placements become possible. Creating systematic patterns that fill naturally as blocks accumulate is the mark of a skilled Block Blast player.
